New York based Soprano Zoe Allen specializes in opera, musical theatre, sacred, and contemporary music. Recent appearances include Candide at the Ravinia Festival and Tanglewood Festival, in recital with the Ojai Music Festival, and productions of Don Giovanni and Street Scene with Virginia Opera. She also originated the role of Michelle in Intruder- The Musical at the 2018 New York Theatre Festival.

In concert, Zoe has sung Queen of the Night with the Albany Symphony, Fire, the Princess and the Nightingale in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges at the Aspen Music Festival, and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the Richmond Symphony. She has also appeared in Handel’s Messiah with the The Orchestra Now, and in concert with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to her work in opera and theatre, Zoe appears as the title role in film director Mary Lambert’s Pearl, which premiered at the 2011 Sitges Film Festival. She holds an award from the Metropolitan National Council (Western Region Semi-Finalist) and the Kenneth Janes Prize in Theatre from Barnard College.

Zoe’s solo album Beneath the Sky, captured during quarantine with husband conductor and pianist Christopher Allen was released in the fall of 2021. The album is one of a series of works devised and produced by her very own production company, Shokat Projects, an organization dedicated to the commissioning of interdisciplinary artistic visual and performance projects.

Zoe is a member of St. Bartholomew’s Choir in Manhattan, and she can be heard singing sacred and contemporary music throughout the year in New York City. She is a recently appointed founding member (Soprano) of Fourth Wall Ensemble– a New York based twelve person theatrical vocal group, whose debut album will be released this upcoming Spring 2024.
